Burst pipe water damage.Move quickly.

A burst pipe can release a large amount of water into walls, ceilings, flooring, cabinets and concealed cavities in a short period of time. TNT Restoration and Construction helps North Houston homeowners move from the initial water loss into extraction, structural drying, damaged-material removal and the repairs needed afterward.

What to do after a burst pipe.

Once the water source has been stopped, the priority is to limit how far moisture spreads and identify which materials can be dried and which may require removal. Water can travel beneath flooring, behind baseboards and into wall or ceiling assemblies even when the visible puddle looks manageable.

Stop the source

Shut off the affected supply or the home’s main water valve when it is safe to do so, then address the plumbing failure.

Extract water

Remove standing water and begin controlling moisture so the structure can start moving toward a dry condition.

Document and dry

Check affected areas, monitor moisture and use drying equipment based on what the building materials actually need.

The damage may extend beyond the leak.

Burst-pipe losses frequently involve more than a wet floor. Drywall, insulation, trim, cabinetry, subflooring and ceiling materials can all be affected depending on where the line failed and how long water moved through the structure.

Walls and ceilings

Moisture can enter drywall and insulation or travel downward from an upstairs plumbing failure.

Flooring and subfloors

Water may migrate beneath finished flooring, requiring moisture evaluation and, in some cases, selective removal.

Cabinets and trim

Toe kicks, baseboards, lower cabinets and other finish materials can hold moisture after the surface water is gone.

Reconstruction

After mitigation is complete, TNT can continue into drywall, flooring, trim, paint and broader build-back work.

Drying before rebuilding.

Putting finishes back too early can hide moisture inside the structure. TNT connects water mitigation with the repair phase so the transition from extraction and drying into reconstruction is planned rather than rushed.
