Moisture inspection for AC drain line and attic water damage

Where attic and condensate water can travel.

A ceiling stain may be only the visible end of the moisture path. The surrounding attic, ceiling assembly and walls can also be affected.

Ceiling drywall

Water can saturate gypsum board and joint compound before the stain becomes obvious.

Attic insulation

Wet insulation can hold moisture against framing and ceiling materials.

Wall cavities

Water may follow framing, pipes or penetrations and appear away from the original source.

Flooring below

A larger overflow may reach floors, furniture and contents in the room underneath.

Do not rely on the ceiling stain alone.

The restoration plan should consider the attic area, ceiling assembly and any walls or finishes below the source. Moisture inspection helps determine whether drying, selective removal or repair is needed.

Source correction plus restoration.

An HVAC contractor may be needed to correct the condensate or equipment problem. TNT handles the water-damage mitigation and repair work after or alongside source correction.
